Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, have joined forces to launch a movement aimed at ending President Bola Tinubu’s rule by the 2027 general elections.
The alliance, which brings together prominent figures from across Nigeria’s political spectrum, signals a formidable challenge to the current administration.
The move was confirmed by Atiku Abubakar, who read the text of a press conference addressed by a cross section of leaders and political stakeholders in Abuja on Thursday.
The coalition, comprising influential voices from various regions, aims to mobilise Nigerians to challenge the APC in 2027.
While details of the movement’s strategy remain under wraps, the involvement of Atiku, Obi, and El-Rufai, the development confirmed Spear News recent report, suggesting a coordinated effort to unite opposition forces against President Tinubu’s All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku, who is a serial presidential candidate for decade, ran against Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, has been a vocal critic of the current administration. Peter Obi, whose candidacy under the Labour Party galvanised a wave of support from young Nigerians, has also maintained a strong presence in the political arena. El-Rufai, a former APC stalwart, has recently distanced himself from the party, citing disagreements with its leadership and policies.
