Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), taking along his loyalists from the party’s faction led by Tanimu Turaki.
The announcement was made on Saturday at the Government House in Bauchi, with APM National Chairman Yusuf Dantalle standing beside him. It followed a closed-door expanded stakeholders’ meeting.
The Governor is now behind closed doors with his political family and plans to make a public statement today. This move comes only two weeks after discussions with the APC fell apart.
Mohammed had been the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum prior to his exit.
More details soon.
