Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has issued a stern warning to politicians who exploit security issues for political gain, cautioning that their actions endanger the lives of innocent citizens.
Speaking over the weekend, the Governor vowed to address the conduct of such individuals, who he accused of capitalizing on insecurity to advance their political agendas.
He made these remarks at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House while receiving 58 kidnapped victims who had been freed by security forces and handed over to the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
Governor Uba Sani stressed that “the merchants of insecurity will not be happy with the release of these innocent souls because they are benefiting from insecurity.”
He reiterated his commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of Kaduna State residents, stating, “As an elected Governor, I swore to protect the lives and property of the people of Kaduna State, and we have been doing our best to fulfil this obligation.”
The Governor highlighted the success of the state’s Kaduna Peace Model, which prioritizes non-kinetic approaches to conflict resolution. He noted that areas like Birnin Gwari, once considered a no-go zone, have now been stabilized.

Bandits have laid down their arms, and markets that have been closed down for over 10 years have now been reopened, and business activities have started booming in Birnin Gwari and parts of Giwa Local Government, which was ravaged by insecurity,” he explained.
Governor Uba Sani assured residents of Kauru, Kajuru, and parts of Kachia, where sporadic bandit attacks persist, that security forces are addressing the situation. “The people of Kauru, Kajuru, and parts of Kachia, who are experiencing pockets of bandit attacks, will soon be ‘sleeping with their two eyes closed because security forces are on top of the situation,” he said.
He expressed frustration with those who undermine these efforts, stating, “The success that the non-kinetic approach has yielded is a source of anger to most people who don’t have the welfare or wellbeing of our people at heart. They only go on social media to express their anger.”
The Governor declared that while he is unfazed by personal attacks on social media, he will not tolerate the politicization of insecurity. “Politicising insecurity is not opposition, and those elites who are doing so on social media don’t really care about the masses. They are just posting messages to further their political interests,” he added.
Governor Uba Sani also revealed that the 59 released victims had received psycho-social therapy and medical treatment from the Kaduna State Government for 11 days, with one individual still undergoing care. He pledged to support the victims in rebuilding their lives by providing grants to help them resume their businesses and farming activities.
Earlier, Pastor Danlami Mutane commended the government for its care and thanked the National Security Adviser for facilitating their release. Similarly, Malama Raliya Ibrahim expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani and the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu, for the support extended to the victims.
