Troops of the Nigerian Army 17 Brigade, operating under the Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YANMA, have rescued Amina Abubakar, the widow of the late retired Major General Rabe Abubakar.
Spear News Nigeria recalls that Hajiya Amina Abubakar was abducted alongside her husband on May 30, while they were traveling along the Marabar Musawa–Kafinsoli Road in the Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
This development followed a terse statement by the troop of the Joint Task Force North West operation made available to newsmen this evening in Katsina state.
While both were held in the bandits’ den, Major General Abubakar, a former Director of Defence Information, died in captivity.
On his death, kidnappers returned his remains to state authorities, leaving his wife behind in the forest.
