The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, has said the ADC Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is panicking over the flag-off of the APC Presidential Campaign Rally in Kaduna State, describing his recent attacks on President Bola Tinubu and the APC as the resort of a man whose northern support base is dissolving like Andrews Liver Salts in water.
Keyamo, in a post on X on Saturday, said Atiku’s daily attacks on the President and the ruling party betrayed a collapsing 2027 strategy.
He said: “The common, but cheap tactics, is to position cameras in some places and procure some persons to be tearing the posters of the President and then proceed to post the videos online. The other tactics is to disseminate disinformation that any kind of support the President is seen getting in the North is only procured by massive deployment of financial resources. Hence the fake letter of N2.3 trillion deployment for the Kaduna rally.”
Keyamo said Atiku was banking on the bulk of Northern votes to see him through in 2027, “knowing fully well that he has no inroad at all into the south because of the mood of the country that the South deserves to complete eight years of the Presidency.”
He said: “In 2023, he lost in ALL MIDDLE BELT (NORTH-CENTRAL) AND SOUTHERN STATES (except Osun). His original projection was that President Tinubu would not compete for votes in the North and would be restricted only to parts of the South. This is the same reason he single-handedly sponsored some unserious Presidential candidates from the South with the aim of ‘dividing southern votes’ and leaving the North alone for him to raid.”
According to him, “with the solid APC structures in the North backing the President, Atiku Abubakar has seen that his demographic calculation for the 2027 elections regarding northern votes is disappearing like Andrews Liver Salts poured in water. Hence the resort to these desperate tactics.”
He said Atiku knows that “even if he wins in some parts of the North, but the President comes close second, the election is as good as over because those differences would be wiped out by his heavy defeat in the middle-belt and the South.”
Keyamo added: “Atiku Abubakar thinks he is Buhari of 2015 that swept the Northern votes. He thinks that was a display of ethnic support. He fails to realise that his corrupt-laden past puts him poles apart from a Muhammadu Buhari and Northerners don’t tolerate such persons with the putrid smell of corruption.”
He concluded: “Atiku Abubakar is a butterfly that thinks he’s a bird.”
