The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the state has been allocated 1,631 slots for the 2026 Hajj by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Saadu Hassan, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday, urging intending pilgrims to begin making deposits immediately ahead of the official announcement of the final fare in October.
According to him, NAHCON has pegged the initial deposit for the 2026 pilgrimage at โฆ8.4 million, with the final cost to be confirmed next month. He stressed that deposits will be collected until October 5, 2025.
โWe urge all intending pilgrims to pay on time so that preparations can be made smoothly, in line with the directives of the Saudi authorities,โ Hassan said.
He emphasized that payments should only be made through Local Government Hajj Officers, Jaโiz Bank, and the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Hassan explained that early deposits are critical for securing accommodation, transportation, and feeding arrangements in advance, noting that strict compliance with Saudi timelines can only be achieved through prompt contributions.
