The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has suspended four of its senior members for one month in the wake of a court order that halted the party’s planned national convention.
The suspended officials are the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN); the National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; the Deputy National Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha; and the National Organising Secretary, Umaru Bature.
The party’s decision was announced by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Saturday following an emergency NWC meeting held at the party’s headquarters, Legacy House, in Maitama, Abuja.
Ologunagba stated that the NWC reached its conclusion “in line with the party’s constitution.” The suspended officials have been referred to the PDP Disciplinary Committee for further investigation.
