The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a six-hour planned power outage in parts of Abuja on Wednesday to allow engineers to carry out preventive maintenance on a power transformer.
In a statement on Wednesday, TCN said its maintenance crew would work on a 100MVA power transformer and associated switchgear at the Central Area GIS 132/33kV Transmission Substation from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
“Consequently, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take power supply to customers in Wuse Zones 1–7, Sheraton Hotel, Central Business District, Utako, Jabi and environs during the exercise,” TCN said.
