Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has warned Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho to be careful when speaking about referees.
Mourinho blamed the referee after Real Madrid lost 2-1 to Atletico Madrid in Sunday’s LaLiga derby.
Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen was sent off before Atletico scored twice through Alejandro Grimaldo and Jonathan David.
Real Madrid later pulled a goal back through Antonio Rudiger, who scored with a header, but Atletico held on to win the match.
After the game, Mourinho criticised the referee’s appointment. He described the referee as young and inexperienced and also questioned the choice of the VAR official.
Mourinho said the VAR referee had been involved in several controversial situations involving Real Madrid.
Responding to Mourinho, Simeone said managers must be careful with their comments about referees.
