The Police Command in Bauchi State has recovered two stolen motorcycles and arrested a suspect in separate operations carried out in Bauchi metropolis and along the ToroโJos highway.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday, September 28, 2025, by Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, made available to journalists in Bauchi.
According to him, on September 20 at about 5:30 a.m., a patrol team intercepted an unidentified person pushing a Lady Super Cub motorcycle without a number plate on the ToroโJos road. The suspect, however, fled on sighting the police, abandoning the motorcycle with engine number WCI 08080. Efforts are ongoing to track him down while the Command appeals to the public to help trace the rightful owner.
In another development, the Command received a distress call on September 17 from a good Samaritan who reported a robbery attack at Inkil Quarters, Bauchi. Detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Alhaji Hassan, immediately mobilised to the scene and arrested one Abdulmutalib Inuwa, 22, who had been subdued by an angry mob.
During interrogation, Inuwa confessed to conspiring with three othersโidentified as Shuaibu (alias Fire), Ismail, and Abba Owota, 25โto break into the home of Mr. Nuhu Abubakar where they stole a Robber Jencheng motorcycle.
Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, psc(+), mni, has directed that the case be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation, after which the suspects will be charged to court.
The police spokesman reiterated the Commandโs commitment to fighting crime in the state while urging residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information that will aid security efforts.
