Abuja, Nigeria – [Date of Publication] – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched the in-person phase of its Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise nationwide today, urging all eligible Nigerians to complete their registration at designated centres.
The physical registration, which follows the recently concluded online pre-registration process, will hold daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at INEC’s state headquarters and local government area offices across the country.
In a public notice, the electoral body specifically directed citizens who had already pre-registered online to visit any of its offices to complete the process by providing their biometrics—fingerprints and photographs. This final step is mandatory for the collection of a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and is crucial for eligibility to vote in future elections.
“Don’t wait; take action today!” the commission stated, emphasising the importance of voter participation in strengthening the democratic process.
To assist registrants in locating their nearest centre, INEC has published a comprehensive list of all registration offices on its website. The commission also provided dedicated phone lines—09050858629, 09050858675, and 09050858649—for citizens seeking clarification or facing challenges during the registration process.
The resumption of the CVR is part of INEC’s mandate to ensure all qualified Nigerians, particularly those who have recently turned 18 or relocated, are not disenfranchised. The exercise has been met with anticipation, as evidenced by the trending social media hashtag #CVR2025, with many young Nigerians expressing their eagerness to register.
