. Parents, sympathisers seek justice, want school shut
The husband of late Mrs Patricia Chinyere Anaele, a school nurse who was reported to have been kidnapped by security men in Dawaki, Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has said that she was murdered and not kidnapped as widely believed.
The late caregiver was killed along with a 14-month old baby after the payment of N3million ransom to the suspects.
The development came as aggrieved relatives and neighbours called on the FCT administration to shut down the school.
According to them, the structure accommodating the school was built initially to serve as a plaza only to be converted by the Proprietor, Dr Abu Alasa, to a school without providing the necessary security arrangements for it.
A security guard named David Moses, had on Friday last week told crime reporters at the FCT Police Command that he and one Sunday, now at large, kidnapped the deceased at Clear Hope Foundation Academy, Dawaki.
He admitted to later killing her and a 14-month old baby under her care at the school’s creche.
Moses confessed in the presence of the FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Ajao Adewale, that the crime was committed by them on the 23rd of July, 2025 and that attempts by his partner in crime to outsmart him in the sharing of N3m ransom paid by the husband of the deceased, led to a scuffle between them, which made him report himself to the police.
However, speaking during a press briefing held in front of the school on Monday, the husband of the deceased, Engineer Emmanuel Anaele, said his late wife was never kidnapped, but was rather murdered right inside the school premises.
He narrated, “What happened on that day, penultimate Wednesday, was clearly a premeditated murder case which claimed the lives of my beloved wife and that of the innocent 14 months old baby under her care as a caregiver, by the school’s security guard, David Moses, and his partner in crime, one Sunday, said to be at large now.
“My wife was never kidnapped. She was killed right inside the school premises and her body wheeled away to a canal, dumped in a canal.
” Unfortunately, since this matter happened, the proprietor of the school, Dr Abu Alasa, the owner of Kings Care Hospital, has never reached out to either me or the father of the baby that was also murdered.
“So I believe strongly that it was a premeditated murder and the culprits must be brought to book.
” I’m at this moment of grief, calling on the FCT administration to look at the direction of this deliberately vulnerable school for required actions against the owner and also the security company that gave the school criminally-minded people as security men.”
He added that the proprietor of the school has been pressuring the police to sweep the matter under the carpet but appealed to the police authorities to allow justice to reign.
“This is a time bomb. The FCT minister must surely wade into this matter and know what to do. Because my wife is dead, another person will die. Yes, another person will die. Another child will die if punitive measures and in fact, if justice is not visited on the culprits.
One of the parents in the school, Mr Femi Emmanuel, said prior to the tragic incident, he and his wife had contemplated on withdrawing their baby from the creche due to poor services just as many of the neighbours around the school expressed their displeasure about the incident and called on appropriate authorities,
to shut it.
Meanwhile, the principal and the manager of the security firm are custody assisting the police with investigation.
