Gunmen in Rivers state have kidnapped Chairman of Onelga Security Planning and Anti-Crime Control, OSPAC, identified as Ohahuru during a gun battle with armed hoodlums.
Also, police has swooped into investigation and rescue mission to free the man in captivity.
State PPRO, ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborio disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in PortHarcourt, Capita of the state.
Spear News learnt that the incident happened on Saturday when bandits invaded Ipo community of Ikwerre local government area.
Ohahuru was said to have led a team of vigilante operatives in search of the bandits said to be operating from the forest in the community.
But on sighting the vigilante operatives, the bandits challenged them to a gun battle, in the process, abducted ohahuru.
When grilled, a villager who pleaded anonymity said, โOn Saturday, some farmers came back home that they saw strange people with guns inside the bush and because of that vigilante people and some policemen entered the bush to look for them.
โThe vigilante people got there but those bandits opened fire on them. They have sophisticated weapons. After that, the leader of the ISPAC has not returned. They are still looking for himโ.
