The Kaduna State Government has implemented a significant reshuffling of its top civil servants, with Governor Uba Sani approving the redeployment of 26 Permanent Secretaries across various ministries and departments.

The sweeping changes, contained in an official circular signed by the Head of Service, Mrs. Jummai C. Bako, represent one of the most comprehensive administrative reorganisations in recent years.
Among the most notable redeployments is the movement of Dr. Halliru Musa Soba from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to the Ministry of Education, while Dr. Yusuf Saleh has been transferred from the Technology Ministry to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The reshuffle also sees Bashir Muhammad (Mni) moving from the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs to the Planning and Budget Commission, and Mukhtar Abdullahi transitioning from the Ministry of Sports Development to the Ministry of Information.
The circular specifically mandates that all handing and taking over exercises must be completed within one week from the date of the announcement, underscoring the administration’s urgency in implementing these changes.
The restructuring leaves some key officers in their current positions, including Ibrahim Sanusi at the Local Government Service Board and Dr. Mahmud Lawal at the Ministry for Local Government Affairs.
Other significant moves include the redeployment of Abubakar Abba from the Ministry of Agriculture to the Office of the Head of Service, and Ramatu M. B. Tukur’s transfer from the Office of the Head of Service to the newly created Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
The exercise appears to strategically place experienced administrators in critical sectors, with particular attention paid to education, agriculture, and internal security – areas that have been prioritised by Governor Sani’s administration.
