Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has sworn in 17 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, urging them to uphold integrity and steer clear of corruption in the discharge of their duties.
The swearing-in ceremony, which took place at the Banquet Hall of Government House in Bauchi on Wednesday, underscored the administrationโs commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
Addressing the appointees, the governor described corruption as a significant barrier to development, stressing that his administration would not tolerate any form of misconduct capable of tarnishing the image of government.
He called on the new Permanent Secretaries to remain disciplined, avoid acts of insubordination, and stay non-partisan in their official responsibilities.
He further tasked them with mentoring junior officers, noting that the success of ongoing civil service reforms depends largely on grooming a new generation of ethical and competent public servants.
Governor Mohammed also reassured retirees of his administrationโs determination to settle outstanding gratuities, estimated at about N20 billion.
He disclosed that the payment of arrears spanning 13 years commenced in January 2026.
The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Talatu Rabi Umar.
