Nigerian Army troops have destroyed a major terrorist camp and seized a large stockpile of weapons in a bold operation inside a dense forest.
The operation, named Operation Igbo Idanu I, targeted a terrorist network linked to leaders known as Kachalla Ibrahim and Shu’aibu.

Soldiers from the 12 Brigade, led personally by Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, advanced deep into difficult forest terrain, crossing rivers and marshy ground to reach the camp.
To achieve surprise, the troops left their vehicles and moved forward on foot.

On sighting the advancing soldiers, the terrorists fled their camp. The troops then moved in and took full control of the area.
A search of the camp resulted in the recovery of significant weapons, including:
· Eight boxes of heavy ammunition
· One box of high-velocity grenades
After clearing the area, the soldiers completely destroyed the camp by setting it on fire to prevent the terrorists from returning.
The Army says the operation has severely weakened the terrorists’ ability to attack and has disrupted their supply of arms.
Troops are continuing patrols in the area to track any fleeing fighters and prevent the group from regrouping.
The operation is part of the Nigerian Army’s ongoing effort to root out terrorist hideouts, protect local communities, and restore lasting security in the region.
