A chieftain and Ex-Speaker, Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Isah Idris and serving member representing Gwaram Constituency has resigned his membership from the ruling All progressives Congress, APC.
Hon. Isah stated this in his letter of resignation which he signed and addressed to Gwaram ward chairman.
Part of his letter reads, “I wish to write and formally inform you about my decision to resign my membership from the All progressives Congress, APC.
“As a former Speaker and founding member of the party, I hope the APC would uphold the principles and ideals it was formed.
“In view of this, I strongly believe it is the proper time for me to step aside.”
Spear News gathered that his resignation may be linked with the recent screening of APC aspirants in which the lawmaker was screened out and replaced with Ado Yakubu Zandam.
At the moment, the lawmaker has not officially declared his party interest.
