Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has charged Muslim faithful in the FCT to uphold acts of charity, kindness, generosity, and other values imbibed during the holy month of Ramadan.
Wike, in a message to the Muslim community on the occasion of the 2025 Eid el-Fitr celebrations, stressed the importance of unity and mutual respect irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
The minister in the message which he personally signed, acknowledged the significance of Ramadan as a period of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion to the Almighty Allah and prayed for the acceptance of all acts of worship, supplications, and sacrifices made by the faithful during the holy month.
“As we celebrate Eid, I urge all residents to continue to embody these noble virtues even beyond Ramadan, as they are essential to building a harmonious and prosperous society.
“The FCT is the centre of unity of our great nation, and our collective responsibility is to uphold and exhibit that unity at all times.
“Let us live in peace and harmony, respecting one another irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, and working together for the common good.”
While reaffirming the FCT Administration’s commitment to infrastructural development, welfare, and security, the minister assured residents that efforts to enhance the quality of life in the capital city remain a priority.
“Let me assure that the FCT Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to the infrastructural development of the territory, as well as the welfare and security of all residents.
“We will continue to prioritize policies and initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the FCT, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for all.”
