The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stepped in to resolve the internal conflict within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), officially recognising a new National Working Committee led by former Senate President David Mark.

In an update to its official register on Wednesday, the commission confirmed Senator Mark as the party’s National Chairman. This move ends months of public disagreement over who controlled the opposition party.
Former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has been formally named the National Secretary. Other key figures on the newly ratified committee include Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as National Treasurer and former Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, as National Legal Adviser.
The party is now expected to unite under its new leadership to rebuild and strengthen its strategy ahead of the next general elections in 2027. The INEC’s publication effectively draws a line under the past dispute, providing a clear path forward for the part.
