Reconstruction of the private residence of the late Abubakar Tatari Ali, Bauchi State’s first democratically elected governor, has reached about 90 percent completion.
The contractor handling the project, Architect Jibrin Mahmoud, disclosed that the work is expected to be fully completed within the next month. The redevelopment features a monument with a tomb, a museum, a mosque, an Islamic school, and residential quarters.
According to the State Commissioner for Information, Usman Shehu Usman, the project was initiated by Governor Bala Mohammed during his visit to Zaki Local Government Area, where he directed the reconstruction to restore the dignity of the late governor’s residence, which had long deteriorated.
He noted that the inclusion of a mosque and an Islamic school reflects Tatari Ali’s enduring legacy of commitment to governance and religious values.
The commissioner praised Governor Mohammed for the initiative and expressed satisfaction with the progress so far.
