Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, on Tuesday visited Kafin Duguri community in Alkaleri Local Government Area following a recent bandit attack that left four residents dead.
The governor, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police and other senior government officials, sympathized with the bereaved families and the entire community over the tragic incident.
He assured them that the state government would provide immediate support to the victims and take decisive steps to strengthen security in the area.
Governor Mohammed disclosed that Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pledged federal intervention to address the growing insecurity affecting parts of the state. According to him, the Federal Government is committed to providing the necessary assistance to security agencies to curb the menace of banditry.
Commending the residents for their courage during the attack, the governor said the community demonstrated resilience in the face of adversity.
He reaffirmed his administration’s determination to work closely with security agencies and local stakeholders to prevent further occurrences.
He noted that security agencies are currently overstretched and require additional federal support to effectively combat criminal elements.
The governor added that plans are underway to enhance security presence in the affected communities.
Governor Mohammed also announced that the state government would prioritize the completion of the Kafin Duguri–Mansur road project to improve accessibility and security response in the area.
He said he had been fully briefed by the Commissioner of Police and other security operatives on the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Attributing the incident to bandits operating from the Madam Forest axis, the governor urged residents to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with security agencies by providing credible information that could help in tracking down the perpetrators.
