To the Distinguished Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON
The Sentinel of Our Skies, The Custodian of Our Airspace
Urhobo elders say: โWhen the eagle soars, the whole forest knows the wind has a master.โ
Your Excellency, Illustrious Son of Delta, Erudite Advocate of the Masses, Defender of the Voiceless:
From the Delta creeks to the runways of Abuja, from the courtrooms of justice to the corridors of national policy, your ascendancy in the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has been nothing short of transcendent. You did not merely assume office as others have done โ you redefined the office itself, breathing life into mandates that once gathered dust and vision into systems that once crawled.
Where others saw turbulence, you instituted clarity of purpose. Where bureaucracy bred opacity and delay, you enthroned transparency, speed, and accountability. Under your sagacious stewardship, Nigeriaโs airspace has become demonstrably safer, our international airports more dignified in service and structure, and our nationโs aviation silhouette on the global stage, more resplendent than it has been in a generation.
Your reforms are not mere administrative adjustments. They are landmarks. The bold defense of local airlines against predatory foreign practices โ that is economic patriotism. The sanitization of airport concession processes โ that is institutional courage. The uncompromising insistence on air safety architecture and regulatory compliance โ that is leadership that values human life above politics. These are not policies. They are poetry in governance, written not with ink, but with resolve.
You have proven to Nigeria and the world that a SAN can soar higher than the courtroom; that a Delta son, forged in the crucible of activism and law, can command the clouds with the same intrepidity, eloquence, and unyielding conviction with which he once commanded the bar. You took the gavel of justice and converted it into a compass for national ascent.
Therefore, I stand, and I shall continue to stand, firmly with you โ any time, any day, any season. For loyalty to excellence is not a choice; it is a duty. To stand with you is to stand with merit, with reform, with the audacious belief that Nigeria can and must work. In a time when many choose silence, I choose allegiance to results.
My Prayer for You, Olorogun:
From the Holy Bible:
โThe Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.โ โ Psalm 121:8
May the God who lifted David from shepherd to sovereign, who turned Joseph from prisoner to prime minister, lift you from glory to greater glory. May no weapon fashioned against your mandate prosper. May every tongue that rises in judgment against your noble works be condemned. May your enemies be at peace with you, and may your allies multiply like the stars.
From the Noble Qurโan:
โAnd whoever relies upon Allah โ then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose.โ โ Surah At-Talaq 65:3
May Ar-Rahman clothe you with divine himaayah that no conspiracy can penetrate. May He grant you tawfeeq in every decision, baseerah in every negotiation, and barakah in every project. May He inscribe your name among those whose hands bring ease to nations and whose leadership becomes sadaqah jariyah for generations unborn.
โMan is nothing else but what he makes of himself.โ โ Jean-Paul Sartre
Olorogun, you made yourself. You were not handed greatness โ you constructed it brick by brick, case by case, reform by reform. From activist to advocate, from SAN to Statesman of the Skies, you refused the comfort of inherited opinions and authored your own legacy through action, through fire, through relentless duty to country. That is Sartreโs truth. That is Keyamoโs testimony. Excellence is not inherited; it is forged in the furnace of choice and sacrifice.
My Heartโs Desire for You:
May Heaven grant you the desires of your heart, both spoken and unspoken. May everything your hands touch turn to golden legacy โ policies that endure, institutions that stand, people whose lives are lifted. May your health be iron, your mind razor-sharp, your wisdom Solomonic, your protection divine, your household peaceful, and your success generational.
May your name never be erased from the annals of those who dared to rebuild Nigeria. May your critics become converts to your vision, and may history remember you as the man who taught our eagles to fly higher.
The skies you govern are vast, but the prayers rising for you from Delta, from OSU, from every corner of Nigeria where hope still lives, are vaster still.
Soar on, Learned Silk. Soar on, Commander of the Niger. Nigeriaโs airspace is safer, prouder, and more ambitious because you are in the cockpit.
With Unwavering Loyalty, Profound Admiration, and Unbreakable Solidarity,
Mallam Iliyasu Akpos Eghrudje
A Loyalist for Knowledge, For Unity, For Nigeria
