Controversial social media influencer Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has issued a public apology following weeks of intense backlash over her alleged cancer diagnosis and fundraising campaign.
In a dramatic reversal of her earlier defiant stance, Blessing CEO took to social media on Wednesday to express regret for what she described as “unnecessary drama, embarrassment, and controversy” surrounding her health issues.
She apologised to her loved ones, fans, well-wishers, and all Nigerians, while promising to upload her scan results and biopsy reports officially.
“I am sorry, very sorry,” she wrote. “Going forward I will carry all along, just like I carried you all during my liposuction and bbl journey.”
The influencer also announced that Nigerians who contributed funds and want a refund can send a WhatsApp message or DM with their receipt and account number.
Blessing CEO’s health saga began in late March 2026 when she announced she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and appealed to the public for financial assistance.
The announcement initially drew widespread sympathy, but skepticism quickly mounted over the absence of verifiable medical evidence. She initially claimed to have stage four breast cancer, a statement she later attributed to “miscommunication.”
A woman named Deborah Mbara accused her of “stealing” her medical report and editing it to look like it belonged to the influencer. While viral reports claimed she raised N100 million, she admitted to receiving N13 million in donations. During the height of the controversy, she maintained, “I can’t post my results online. It’s personal stuff.”
Nollywood actress Georgina Onuoha strongly criticized Blessing CEO, describing the situation as “deeply troubling and unacceptable” and accusing her of misleading the public. “You told people you were critically ill and appealed to their empathy, and they responded with compassion and financial support.
That is not a joke. That is deception,” Onuoha stated. Businessman Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo, known as Oil Money, who claimed to have donated N20 million, issued a formal legal demand for a full refund within seven days through his lawyers. “Refund my 20M naira, or we go to court,” he insisted.
Social activist VeryDarkMan also demanded accountability, stating, “Blessing CEO, my money is in your accountโฆ it is now looking like you defrauded the publicโฆ This is a very big crime.”
On April 21, 2026, Blessing CEO reactivated her Instagram account after a three-week hiatus, sharing a TikTok video of herself happily dancing.
Netizens noticed she had deleted all previous videos where she spoke about her cancer diagnosis.
A petition has reportedly been submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing her of fraud and forgery.
Blessing CEO has now promised transparency, including uploading her scan results and biopsy reports. She has also opened a channel for donors seeking refunds. Whether this apology will satisfy critics and potential legal authorities remains to be seen.
