By Emameh Gabriel

Kaduna State, once a theatre of turmoil, is now a canvas of transformation, painted stroke by stroke by a man whose vision is as vast as the Sahel sky.

Governor Uba Sani has turned himself into a maestro, orchestrating a web of progress, peace, and prosperity in a land that had almost forgotten the sound of harmony before he took over the reins, leaving his traducers utterly dismayed and scrambling for ammunition to use against him. His impressive performance has been a constant thorn in their skin, a nagging nuisance that haunts their every waking moment. With Uba Sani’s approval ratings on the rise, it is little wonder that his critics are struggling to find fault in his governance.

To speak of Uba Sani is to speak of a man who wields governance like a master sculptor, chiselling away at the granite of despair to reveal the statue of hope beneath. His tenure has been a whirlwind of activity, a relentless cascade of projects that seem to spring forth like water from a rock in the desert. Each day, he gifts the people of Kaduna a new reason to believe, a new story to tell, and a new dream to chase. In a political ecosystem often marred by inertia, Uba Sani is a force of nature, a governor who makes the Herculean task of governance appear as effortless as plucking an apple from a child’s hand.

Uba Sani and Kaduna’s Crowded Guber Race

If Kaduna were a torned clothes, Uba Sani would be the tailor, threading together the tattered edges of a state once torn apart by violence. His projects are not mere structures; they are symbols of unity, bridges that connect not just communities but hearts and minds.

In Kaduna South, he commissions a school, its walls rising like a phoenix from the ashes of neglect. In Kaduna North, he unveils a hospital, its corridors echoing with the promise of healing. And in Kaduna Central, he breaks ground on a road, its path cutting through the wilderness like a ribbon of hope. But Uba Sani’s bridges are not made of steel and concrete alone. He goes back again to replicate the same, leaving a balance that gives the entire state a sense of belonging.

He is also a bridge builder in the truest sense, a negotiator of peace in a land where conflict had become a way of life. Where others saw only division, he saw the potential for dialogue. Where others heard only the cacophony of discord, he listened for the faint whispers of reconciliation. Through tireless efforts, he has turned battlegrounds into meeting grounds, transforming Kaduna from a state of bloodshed to a state of brotherhood.

To watch Uba Sani at work is to witness a man possessed by a vision so grand it borders on the audacious. He is not content with incremental change; he seeks nothing less than a renaissance. His projects come in rapid succession, each one an expression of his unyielding commitment to progress. One day, he is inaugurating a market, its stalls brimming with the promise of commerce. The next, he is launching an agricultural initiative, its fields ripe with the potential of abundance. And all the while, he is negotiating peace, his words a balm to wounds that have festered for too long. His approach to governance is both pragmatic and poetic.

He understands that development is not just about bricks and mortar; it is about building a future where every citizen can thrive. His projects are designed not just to meet immediate needs but to lay the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. In this, he is like a gardener, planting seeds that will one day grow into a forest of opportunity.

Among his most groundbreaking achievements is the introduction of the first-ever Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system in Northern Nigeria, a revolutionary project that promises to redefine urban mobility in Kaduna. This initiative, coupled with billions invested in water projects, has not only improved access to clean water but also laid the groundwork for sustainable development across the state. His housing projects for the poor stand itself out as part of his commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that even the most vulnerable have a place to call home.

Uba Sani’s investment in agriculture has breathed new life into the sector, empowering farmers and boosting food security. His strategic partnerships with foreign investors have transformed Kaduna into one of the top five states in Nigeria for foreign investment attraction, a feat that underscores his ability to blend local needs with global opportunities. These achievements are not just milestones; they are the building blocks of a new Kaduna, a state poised to lead by example in Nigeria’s quest for progress.

Perhaps Uba Sani’s greatest achievement is the peace he has brought to Kaduna. For almost eight years, the state was a cauldron of conflict, its people caught in a cycle of violence that seemed unbreakable. But Uba Sani refused to accept this as Kaduna’s fate. With the patience of a mediator and the resolve of a warrior, he set about dismantling the machinery of discord. His efforts have borne fruit. Today, Kaduna is a state where children can play in the streets without fear, where farmers can tend their fields without dread, and where communities can gather without suspicion. This peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence of justice, the result of a leader who understands that true security comes from addressing the root causes of strife.

What sets Uba Sani apart is not just his achievements but his connection to the people he serves. He is a governor who listens, who understands that leadership is not about ruling from on high but about walking alongside those you lead. His projects are not imposed from above; they are born from the needs and aspirations of the people. In this, he is like a shepherd, guiding his flock with a gentle hand and a firm resolve. His daily engagements are a strong symbol to this ethos. Whether he is commissioning a project, negotiating peace, or simply listening to the concerns of his constituents, Uba Sani is a man in constant motion, driven by a desire to serve. His energy is boundless, his dedication unwavering. He is a leader who does not just talk the talk but walks the walk, every step a testament to his commitment to Kaduna’s future.

As Uba Sani’s tenure unfolds, it is clear that he is not just building a state; he is building a legacy. His projects will stand as monuments to his vision, his peace as a testament to his courage, and his leadership as a model for others to follow.

It comes as no surprise, then, that his approach to governance has continued to draw more people into the fold of the APC, including those who once aligned with opposition parties in the state and even those who had been driven away from the party in the past. Figures like Shehu Sani, who had previously left the party, have returned, bringing with them thousands of loyal supporters. This is the hallmark of a true leader: the ability to draw strength not from oneself alone, but from the people who rally around you. Uba Sani’s leadership has become a magnet, pulling in those who once stood apart and uniting them under a shared vision for Kaduna’s future.

In a nation often beset by challenges, he raises hope, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, light can prevail. What manner of man is Uba Sani? He is a builder, a peacemaker, a visionary, and a servant. He is the architect of Kaduna’s renaissance, the weaver of its new narrative. And as the sun sets on each day of his tenure, it rises on a Kaduna that is stronger, safer, and more united than ever before. In the annals of Nigerian history, Uba Sani’s name will be etched in gold, the resilience of the human spirit, and the boundless potential of a people united by a common dream.

To the dismay of his traducers, Uba Sani has performed so exceptionally that they are left with nothing to campaign against him in 2027. His relentless dedication to development, peace, and the welfare of his people has silenced even the most vocal critics. Where they hoped for failure, they found success; where they sought division, the are confronted with unity. Uba Sani has not only raised the bar for governance in Kaduna but has also set a standard so high that his detractors are left grasping at straws. In the face of such monumental success, his opponents are left with no choice but to concede that Uba Sani is, indeed, a leader for the ages.
