Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, has announced the signing of three seminal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Brazilian partners, following the recent state visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Brazil.
The governor described the agreements as frameworks of transformation designed to recalibrate Kaduna’s socio-economic trajectory.
The partnerships, advanced during the visit, are with three key Brazilian organisations: SAMPRES, SENAI, and CAMPO. Each targets a critical sector for development—dairy production, vocational education, and agricultural modernisation.
The first agreement, with SAMPRES, focuses on dairy production through the infusion of Girolando genetics and reproductive technologies. Governor Sani stated that this initiative goes “Beyond establishing a high-yield nucleus herd,” aiming to “cultivate a knowledge-based agrarian ecosystem, reducing import dependence and positioning Kaduna as a regional dairy exemplar.”
The second collaboration is with SENAI, Brazil’s preeminent vocational institution. This MoU is engineered to spark “a renaissance in skills development” by co-creating curricula across 13 technical disciplines and instituting a dual certification regime.
The objective is to embed “global standards into local institutions and empowering Kaduna’s youth with future-proof competencies.”
The third partnership, with CAMPO, is intended to convert “dormant arable land into zones of intensive, technologically enabled agricultural production.” This comprehensive effort includes soil revitalisation, irrigation infrastructure, mechanisation, and full-spectrum value chain development for critical crops and livestock.
Governor Sani emphasised that “These MoUs are strategic instruments of inclusive prosperity,” expressing “Kaduna State’s unambiguous commitment to a self-sustaining economy; driven by knowledge, powered by innovation, and rooted in the dignity of labour.”
