Senator Francis Fadahunsi, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Fadahunsi represents Osun-East Senatorial District.
He cited โirreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battlesโ the party had had to contend with since the 2023 general polls as his reason for leaving.
His letter of resignation was addressed to his Ward 4 Chairman in Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.
In a similar vein, Sen. Olubiyi Fadeyi (Osun-Central), also wrote his Ward 3, Oke-Ejigbo, Ila-Orangun chairman, on his resignation from the PDP.
Fadeyi gave the same reason as Fadahunsi for dumping the main opposition party.
Incidentally, both letters dated June 12, 2025, did not indicate which political party the two senators had defected to.
The Spear observes that the move by the senators may be preparatory to the rumoured defection plan of the State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
