Former U.S. President Donald J. Trump has announced new appointments within his administration, naming Dan Scavino as the new head of the White House Presidential Personnel Office (PPO).
In a statement shared via his social media handle on Sunday, Trump said Scavino would take over from Sergio Gor, who had “done a wonderful job” and would now serve as the U.S. Ambassador to India.
“I am pleased to announce that the great Dan Scavino, in addition to remaining Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, will head the White House Presidential Personnel Office, replacing Sergio Gor, who did a wonderful job in that position, and will now become the Ambassador to India,” Trump wrote.
He added that Scavino, a long-time aide and one of his most trusted associates, would oversee “the selection and appointment of almost all positions in government,” describing the post as “a very big and important position.”
“Congratulations Dan, you will do a fantastic job!!!” Trump concluded.
Scavino, who has worked closely with Trump since the early days of his political career, previously managed the former president’s social media operations and served as White House Director of Social Media during Trump’s first term.
Sergio Gor, on the other hand, has been a political strategist and communications aide within Trump’s circle and will now represent U.S. interests in New Delhi as ambassador.
The reshuffle underscores Trump’s continued efforts to consolidate loyalists in key positions as his administration prepares for upcoming political and diplomatic priorities.
