Tinubu’s Next Four Years Will Bring Stronger, Fairer Nigeria, Says Soludo

Anambra governor, Chukwuma Soludo has predicted that the next four years of President Bola Tinubu’s administration will produce a stronger and fairer Nigeria.

Soludo stated this on Thursday when he received First Lady, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, during her official visit to Anambra.

The governor acknowledged economic challenges facing Nigerians but said the Tinubu administration’s reforms offered reasons for optimism.

Soludo said: “Many are complaining now, but I see hope in the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Let me assure you that the President is working hard to secure a brighter future for all.

“I am convinced that the next four years of President Tinubu’s administration will most certainly see a stronger and fairer Nigeria.”

He commended the First Lady for using her platform to improve lives and for visiting the state.

“We are here to receive and celebrate our First Lady, a supportive wife, pastor and compassionate mother of the nation,” he said.

He said the empowerment of more than 500 residents through the Renewed Hope Initiative demonstrated cooperation among progressive forces.

“Indeed, the progressives are working together. APGA and APC, as progressives in Nigeria, have no choice than to work for Nigeria’s greatness,” Soludo said.

He described the partnership between the All Progressives Grand Alliance-led state government and the APC-led Federal Government as beneficial.

“Our administration will continue to cascade Federal Government reforms in the state, especially at the grassroots, for the benefit of our people,” he said.

Responding, Tinubu thanked Soludo for domesticating President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to improve the welfare of Anambra residents.

She urged the five South-East governors to jointly inaugurate the National Community Food Bank programme across the zone.

According to her, the initiative will extend nutritional support to Primary Health Care centres across the five states.

Tinubu said the PHCs would provide food and nutritional assistance to pregnant and lactating mothers and children below six years.

She described the programme as “Hope Accomplished for vulnerable Nigerians”.

Earlier, Dr Nonye Soludo, wife of the governor, commended the First Lady for prioritising the health and welfare of women, youths and children.

She also praised her for deploying the Renewed Hope Initiative to support vulnerable Nigerians and promote economic empowerment.

The Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council conferred the chieftaincy title ‘Ugoeze Anambra’, meaning ‘Glory of the King’, on the First Lady.

No fewer than 5,000 residents benefited from Dr Nonye Soludo’s empowerment programme.

The beneficiaries received sewing machines, piglets, fishpond equipment, poultry equipment and ovens for baking businesses.

The First Lady also presented N100,000 each to the beneficiaries as additional financial support.

Sen Tinubu has earlier inaugurated the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East geopolitical zone at the Old Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia in Awka North.

Speaking at the event, Senatorn Tinubu said the National Community Food Bank Programme would complement ongoing efforts to cushion the effects of economic hardship on vulnerable households across the country.

She said the initiative, under the Renewed Hope Initiative, was aimed at strengthening food security, reducing hunger and providing social support to vulnerable Nigerians.

According to her, the programme will target vulnerable groups, including widows, elderly persons, persons with disabilities, nursing mothers and young children, through food assistance and nutrition education.

“The programme is part of the Federal Government’s broader efforts to promote grassroots development and improve human capital across communities,” she said.

Gov. Soludo and his wife, Dr Nonye, received Tinubu at the event, attended by government officials, dignitaries and other stakeholders.

Tinubu’s visit to Anambta also featured the inauguration of a Tertiary Education Trust Fund-sponsored Information and Communications Technology Experience Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.

The centre is designed to equip youths with digital skills, including software development, data analysis and other technology-related competencies.

The visit also featured empowerment initiatives involving grants, vocational tools and agricultural inputs for beneficiaries across the state’s 21 Local Government Areas.

The engagements highlighted the collaboration between the Federal and Anambra Governments in promoting inclusive economic growth, food security and social welfare. (NAN)
