President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Saturday, May 2nd, for a three-nation diplomatic visit to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced in a statement on Thursday.
President Tinubu will begin his journey in France before proceeding to Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11th to May 12th. Co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, the summit will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of global financing architecture, and climate action under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.”
At the conclusion of the Kenya summit, President Tinubu will travel to Kigali, Rwanda, to attend the annual Africa CEO Forum from May 14th to May 15th. The forum, themed “Scale or Fail”, is organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation and will bring together over 2,000 African private sector leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss regional integration, cross-border investment, and economic transformation.
President Tinubu will deliver statements at both summits highlighting his administration’s ongoing reforms to reposition Nigeria as a prime destination for investment and growth. He will also hold high-level meetings with global and African business leaders.
The President will be accompanied by some of his ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the Rwanda summit.
