Former Adamawa State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Binani, has officially defected to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Spear News reports that her official decamping took place today at the home of former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Dickson Seriake.
The well-attended event, featuring several key political figures, signals Binani’s ongoing search for a credible platform ahead of the 2027 polls.
Her defection to the NDC follows her recent exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where she had sought to rebuild her political structure after leaving the APC.
Binani left the ADC after months of internal crisis that split the party’s Adamawa chapter into three factions.
Her faction cited a collapse of internal democracy, flawed congresses, and the leadership’s disregard for court orders as reasons for their mass resignation from the ADC.
The Binani-led bloc had previously mandated her to find a more credible political platform that guarantees fairness, justice, and respect for the rule of law. Details shortly
