President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Monday, January 26, for a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye, aimed at significantly deepening bilateral relations and exploring new frontiers of cooperation in critical sectors including security, trade, and investment.
The visit follows Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s official trip to Nigeria in October 2021 and is designed to build on the existing cordial ties between the two nations.

Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy) noted that key focus of the visit will be high-level strategic discussions between the two leaders on shared interests in finance, communication, trade, and investment.
The agenda includes the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) expected to cover areas such as scientific research, energy, technical cooperation, media and communications, and military cooperation.
Further cementing the economic dimension of the partnership, a dedicated business forum will convene investors from both countries to explore and solidify commercial opportunities.
President Tinubu will be accompanied by a high-powered delegation comprising key members of his cabinet and security apparatus, including:
· Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar
· Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN
· Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd)
· Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo
· National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu
· Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed
· Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim
· Minister of Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa
· Chairman, House Committee on Defence, Hon. Jimi Benson
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria upon the conclusion of the visit.
