The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) successfully prevented a terrorist attack on a military base in Rann, Borno State, killing numerous insurgents attempting to escape.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, stated that the air division of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) disrupted the attack in the early hours of August 8, 2025, through strategic Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations, followed by targeted airstrikes.
The statement explained that the OPHK Air Unit, acting on reliable intelligence, coordinated with ground forces, located groups of fleeing militants, and struck them with precision, eliminating several terrorists.
Ejodame emphasized that the quick and effective response helped restore stability in the area, highlighting NAF’s dedication to providing air support, protecting troops, and swiftly countering insurgent threats.
