A Magistrate Court in Kuje, Abuja, has granted bail to human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, Aloy Ejimakor (counsel to Nnamdi Kanu), and 12 others arrested during Thursday’s #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in the Federal Capital Territory.
The court, presided over by Magistrate Abubakar Umar Saiโid, granted each defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 on Friday following their arraignment on charges of unlawful assembly and disturbance of public peace.
The bail conditions require them to present a verified National Identification Number (NIN), submit three-year tax clearance certificates, and surrender their passports.
Sowore, the publisher of SaharaReporters, was arrested on Thursday by police operatives shortly after leaving the Federal High Court in Abuja
