The African Action Congress (AAC) has written to President Bola Tinubu, requesting approval to hold the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja.
This came as the party is also requesting that the Presidency provide logistical support for the event.
In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by the party’s National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the AAC stated that the inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 11, 2026, in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The letter, titled “Request for Approval to Hold the Inauguration of the AAC Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa and for Logistical Support,” specifically asks the President to provide in-kind support for the event.
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties, we also request the provision of food, drinks, and other logistical support for participants at the event, consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement,” the letter read.
The AAC argued that granting the request would prove the Presidency’s commitment to fairness.
“We believe that granting this request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access, and the principle that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination,” the party stated.
The party noted that it looks forward to a favorable consideration of the request and asked for information on the applicable procedures.
“We look forward to your favourable consideration of this request and would appreciate information on the applicable procedures and conditions for its approval,” the letter added.
