Former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is the unseen architect of the internal crises rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on Thursday during a matriculation, Oyinlola claimed this strategy is intended to smooth the President’s path to a second term in 2027.
“The problem would have been solved but for the interference of Tinubu. He sees PDP as a major challenge poised on his 2027 ambition. He doesn’t want to run, he wants to walk into the Villa,” Oyinlola declared.
The former military administrator made these remarks at the second matriculation ceremony of the Alolade Oyinlola College of Health Sciences and Information Technology in Okuku, Osun State.
Oyinlola used the occasion to firmly distance himself from the recent political move by the current Osun State Governor,Ademola Adeleke, who defected from the PDP to the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election.
“I won’t leave PDP unless it goes into extinction. I am not following Demola to Accord (Party). At my age, I can’t be pushed around. I’m gradually leaving active politics. I will be 75 in February (2026),” he stated, affirming his loyalty to the PDP despite its challenges.
Beyond politics, the event focused on academia. As the proprietor of the institution, Oyinlola addressed the newly matriculated students, emphasizing the college’s commitment to providing quality education in health sciences and information technology.
“This institution is built on the core belief that quality health education and sound information management are essential pillars for sustainable development in Nigeria,” he told the students, urging them to be dedicated and responsible in their studies.
The school’s Council Chairman, Prof. Sola Akinrinade, represented by Dr. B.O. Oginni, also advised students to be good ambassadors and avoid using social media to tarnish the institution’s reputation.
