The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has introduced a Digital Education Quality Assurance Platform to strengthen the monitoring, inspection and evaluation of public and private schools.
This was disclosed in a statement by the ministry’s spokesperson, Bisi Lawani, on Friday, saying that the Department of Inspectorate and Quality Assurance developed the initiative in partnership with Quickens Computer Limited, aligning with global best practices to improve education delivery.
It said the digital platform featured a real-time dashboard that gives stakeholders access to reports on school status and performance.
The ministry explained that the platform was designed to facilitate routine evaluation, whole-school evaluation, school inspection, and case management, thereby promoting efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the education sector.
“The pilot-testing of the platform commenced at Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, with the participation of Zonal and Area Education Officers from the Akure South, Akure North, Ifedore, and Idanre local government areas,” it stated.
The ministry said it held a feedback session at the end of the field exercise to review observations and identify areas for improvement to strengthen the platform before full rollout.
“The exercise will be extended across the three senatorial districts of Ondo State to ensure that all field officers are adequately trained and equipped to utilise the platform effectively.
“This initiative marks another significant step towards leveraging digital technology to enhance education monitoring, strengthen institutional accountability, and ensure improved standards in schools across Ondo state,” it added.
