The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has presented an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to Heliconia–EAN Aero Nigeria Limited, authorising the company to begin charter operations in the country.
The certification marks a formal expansion of Nigeria’s aviation sector, with the new carrier cleared to offer non-scheduled flight services.
The presentation ceremony took place on Monday at the NCAA’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja and was led by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo.
In his remarks, Capt. Najomo congratulated the airline and stated that the efficient certification process reflected Nigeria’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business while maintaining strict safety standards.
He assured that the Authority would enhance active surveillance and continuous monitoring of all certified operators to ensure full compliance with safety regulations and uphold the industry’s credibility.
According to a short statement in NCAA social media platform, the issuance of the AOC follows a “rigorous assessment process carried out by NCAA officials to ensure Heliconia–EAN Aero meets all technical, operational, and safety requirements set by Nigerian and international aviation regulations”.
