Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has sacked Aigbodion Ewanifo Smart as the Acting Managing Director of New Edo Line Ltd over managerial inefficiency.
The termination of Smart’s appointment is contained in a Government Special Announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, on Sunday, October 18, 2026.
The governor also approved the appointment of Engr. Paul F. Ogedegbe as the new Managing Director of the company.
According to the announcement, both the termination and the new appointment take immediate effect.
The government did not provide further details on the circumstances surrounding Smart’s removal.
