The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has made history by connecting Nigerian students to the International Space Station (ISS) for a live interactive session with NASA astronaut Zena Cardman.
It is the first of its kind on the African continent.
The event, held at NASRDA headquarters in Abuja on Saturday, brought together students from schools across the Federal Capital Territory.
NASRDA Director General, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, described the session as a record milestone in Africaโs space journey, aimed at inspiring young people to pursue careers in science and technology.
He praised the support of President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Geoffrey Nnaji, for advancing Nigeriaโs space programme.
The highlight was a live question-and-answer session where students engaged with the astronaut.
