Edo born music producer, David Omoafuede Omokagbor, professionally known as Beatzbyjava, has been selected for the Recording Academy’s prestigious 2025 New Member Class, granting him voting rights for the Grammy Awards.
The founder of Beatzbyjava Productions now joins an elite global community of music creators and professionals shaping the industry’s future.
“I’m honored to join the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class—an inspiring global community of creators and professionals who are shaping the future of music. As a member, I now have a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process and a platform to advocate for our industry, support my peers, and grow in my own journey, he wrote on his social media account.
The inclusion marks a huge milestone for Nigeria’s music industry, as Beatzbyjava becomes one of the few African producers with direct influence over Grammy outcomes.
His membership strengthens Africa’s representation in global music governance and opens doors for more Nigerian talents to gain international recognition.
“What makes the Academy strong is its diversity—of genres, experiences, and voices. I’m excited to contribute my perspective and help champion musical excellence around the world”, he said.
The promotion is particularly significant as it comes at a time when Afrobeats and African music genres are experiencing unprecedented global dominance. Beatzbyjava’s role will enable him to advocate for fair representation of African artists and producers in Grammy categories, potentially influencing future nominations.
His membership could pave the way for more Nigerian professionals to join the Academy, further solidifying the country’s position as a music powerhouse.
