The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially announced the commencement of the next critical phase in its ongoing 2025 recruitment exercise: the Computer-Based Test (CBT).
The management has released a detailed schedule, urging all shortlisted candidates to prepare for the nationwide examination.
In a statement signed by the Management, the Service confirmed that the Online CBT is scheduled to hold over a one week period, from Sunday, 14th September 2025, to Sunday, 21st September 2025.
This phase marks the second stage of a rigorous, multi tiered recruitment process designed to identify the most qualified individuals to join the Service.
In a Thursday statement, the announcement specifically targets the general public and all applicants who successfully navigated the initial stage.
Key Information for Shortlisted Candidates
The NCS management has issued clear instructions for all prospective candidates:
- Check Registered Contact Information: All shortlisted candidates are strongly advised to immediately check the email addresses and phone numbers they registered during their application. Official communication containing specific test details, including individual time slots, venue addresses, and candidate identification, will be sent directly to these contacts.
- Eligibility for This Phase: The Service emphasised that only applicants who successfully passed the initial documentary scrutiny have been shortlisted and invited to participate in this CBT phase. Those who did not meet the criteria for this stage have not been contacted.
Special Notice for Superintendent Cadre Applicants
The announcement included a crucial specific notice for candidates who applied for positions within the Superintendent Cadre (Level 8). Unlike other cadres, their recruitment process includes an additional layer of testing. They will be required to sit for a second, specialised CBT after successfully completing this upcoming general test. This underscores the advanced and demanding nature of the superintendent-level roles.
A Sequential and Merit-Based Process
The NCS reiterated that the entire recruitment exercise is strictly sequential. progression to any subsequent stageโincluding further screening, interviews, and final selectionโis contingent upon successfully passing the current phase. Only candidates who excel in the CBT will be invited to the next round of assessments.
