Shehu Sani, former senator representing Kaduna Central, has declared that his top priority is ensuring the re-election of Governor Uba Sani in 2027 before considering his own political ambitions.
Speaking during his Eid-el-Fitr address at his residence in Kaduna, Sani emphasized that while he remains open to contesting for the Senate again, his primary commitment is securing victory for the incumbent governor.
“At this moment, my priority is to deliver Uba Sani in 2027. We will deploy our full strength and resources to achieve this goal. We recognize the challenges and opposition ahead, but we are fully prepared,” he stated.
He added that any decision to contest the Kaduna Central senatorial seat would depend on political dynamics and the demand from the people.
“Any politician contesting an election must consider the political landscape that determines the position to vie for. If the conditions are right and the people of Kaduna Central desire our leadership, then expect me back in the Senate in 2027,” he noted.
On national issues, Sani urged Muslims to use the Eid-el-Fitr period to pray for peace, unity, and stability in Nigeria. He condemned the recent killings of hunters in Edo State and called on security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Highlighting concerns over insecurity, he stated, “If citizens cannot move freely across the country, then we are not truly a nation. When individuals take the law into their own hands without consequence, it undermines the very essence of governance and authority.”
Sani further called on the government to uphold fundamental human rights, emphasizing that respect for life is essential to preserving democracy amid the nation’s ongoing challenges.
