Hon. Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha has officially resigned as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment.
She announced her resignation in a heartfelt statement shared on her official Facebook account, marking the end of her tenure under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Onyejeocha, a former Deputy Whip of the House of Representatives and a four-term lawmaker, lost her seat in the 2023 general election to the Labour Party. She was subsequently appointed minister by President Tinubu. She is now contesting to return to the House of Representatives.
In her message, Onyejeocha expressed deep gratitude to President Tinubu for what she called the “opportunity to serve Nigeria” and for trusting her capacity to contribute to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She also thanked the leadership and staff of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, her constituents in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, and Nigerians at large for their support, prayers, and constructive engagement.
“As one chapter closes, another opens,” she wrote. “I remain committed to service, to progress, and to building the Nigeria we all deserve.”
