The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Adekimi Ojo, psc, mnips, on Wednesday embarked on an on-the-spot assessment of Eruku community in Ekiti Local Government Area following reports of emerging security concerns in the area.
Upon arrival, the Commissioner was received by the Divisional Police Officer of Eruku and other tactical commanders for an immediate review of the situation and to coordinate a swift security response.
At the palace of the Owa of Eruku Land, His Royal Highness, Oba Busari Ayinde Oyediran Olarenwaju, Amuludunloye I, the CP, alongside the State Director of the Department of State Services, Mr. Micheal Oganwu, fsi, and other senior officers, was warmly received. The traditional ruler expressed deep concern over the attack that occurred in the community and appealed for additional personnel to fortify security and protect residents.

CP Ojo also held engagements with community leaders, local vigilante groups, and residents. The visit, according to the Command, was aimed at gathering firsthand information, strengthening collaboration, and reassuring the people of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property.
The security chiefs later visited the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun, where the resident pastor, Mr. Bamidele, narrated how the incident unfolded and guided the team around the affected premises.
The Commissioner of Police is currently leading a strategic evaluation of the situation, with measures underway to ensure adequate deployment of personnel, rescue of victims, apprehension of perpetrators, restoration of public confidence, and the maintenance of law and order in the community.
The Kwara State Police Command assured that further updates will be provided as the assessment continues and more details become available.
