Governors from the six South-West states are currently gathering in Ibadan for an urgent, high-level security meeting hosted by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
The closed-door session, which commenced at the Governor’s Office in Agodi, Ibadan, was convened unexpectedly to address pressing regional security challenges and other critical matters.
All six governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states are expected to be in attendance for the emergency summit.
While official details are still emerging, sources familiar with the agenda indicate the meeting will focus on:
· Addressing rising security threats across the region.
· Reviewing and strengthening the operations of the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun Corps).
· Fast-tracking infrastructural development and deeper regional integration under the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) commission.
