The Kaduna State Executive Council, chaired by Governor Uba Sani, has approved the award of contracts for the construction and rehabilitation of 10 major roads across the state.
The projects, spanning several local government areas, are part of the governmentโs push to improve infrastructure and boost economic connectivity.
Among the key roads earmarked for development are the asphaltic road from Durum to Kuruntumawa in Makarfi LGA, the reconstruction of Romi-Karatudu Township Roads in Chikun LGA, and the completion of the long-abandoned dual carriageway from PAN Drive through Television Garage to Sabon Tasha.
The government also plans to construct a critical link from Kachia-Zonkwa Road to the new Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia LGA.
In a significant move, the state has allocated approximately N3.5 billion for compensation and relocation of affected property owners along the project corridors.
The funds are intended to ensure fair settlements for residents and businesses displaced by the road expansions and upgrades.
Governor Saniโs administration emphasised that the projects align with its broader agenda to enhance transportation networks, stimulate local economies, and improve access to key facilities across Kaduna State.
The contracts are expected to commence soon, with completion timelines to be announced in due course.
This latest infrastructure initiative follows ongoing efforts by the state government to address longstanding road deficits and accelerate development in both urban and rural communities.
