The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled plans for the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, giving eligible Nigerians fresh opportunities to register ahead of upcoming elections.
The commission disclosed this in message on its website on Sunday.
The exercise, according to INEC, will be conducted in two phases. Online pre-registration will commence first on August 18, 2025, through INEC’s official portal: http://www.cvr.inecnigeria.org. Eligible voters can complete the initial registration process digitally before finalizing it in person.
From August 25, 2025, in-person registration will open at all INEC Local Government Area (LGA) offices and designated centers nationwide. The physical registration will run Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily.
The 2025 CVR is expected to boost voter participation ahead of the next general elections. INEC advised applicants to follow its official channels for updates on registration requirements and guidelines.
