Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for coordinated missile and drone strikes on three United States military bases in the Middle East.
This is even as its issued a direct threat against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to a report by India Today, citing Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency, the IRGC coupled its military announcement with a chilling warning to the Israeli leader.
“If the Israeli prime minister is still alive, we will continue pursuing him and kill him with full force,” the IRGC declared.
The Sunday attacks mark a significant intensification of Tehran’s military posture against American forces stationed in the region.
The IRGC framed the strikes as part of a broader defensive strategy to counter what it perceives as threats from the United States and its allies, specifically naming Israel.
The statement indicated that Iran intends to maintain and increase pressure on both Washington and Jerusalem, vowing that such operations will continue. The explicit threat against Netanyahu represents one of the most aggressive rhetorical escalations from Tehran against an Israeli leader in recent years, signaling a potential shift toward targeted hostilities.
No independent verification of the attacks on the US bases was immediately available, and the IRGC did not provide details regarding potential casualties or the extent of the damage.
The declaration comes amid ongoing regional volatility, where Iran has repeatedly condemned Israeli military actions. By directly threatening the life of the Israeli Prime Minister, the IRGC has signaled a dangerous new phase in the long-running shadow conflict between the two nations.
The IRGC concluded its statement by reaffirming its commitment to its regional strategy, asserting it would persist in actions against those it considers adversaries.
