The Nigeria Police Force has received an official petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) concerning an alleged incident involving Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1.
The musician is accused of “unruly behaviour and obstruction of the safe operation of an aircraft” at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on 5 August 2025, in violation of aviation regulations.
In response, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has directed the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to “immediately commence a thorough investigation into the matter, to unravel the circumstances which led to the ugly incident and ensure justice is served accordingly.”
The police, in a statement, assured the public of its “commitment to upholding safety and security within Nigeria’s aviation sector,” while promising stakeholders “improved collaboration towards aviation security and strict compliance with aviation laws.”
Though specifics of KWAM 1’s alleged actions remain undisclosed, the NCAA’s decision to escalate the matter highlights the gravity of the accusations. The musician’s camp has not yet responded publicly.
Authorities have emphasised the importance of due process, with the police investigation expected to determine further action.
