Political activist, Deji Adeyanju, has claimed he “humbled” the Labour Party’s Peter Obi and his supporters, known as Obidients, during the 2023 presidential election and vowed to do so again.
Adeyanju in a short post on his social media handle on Monday, recounted the abuse he faced for criticising the party, saying a “political extremist mob” had labelled him a “murderer, gun runner (and) cultist.”
“None can ever stick. I never lose, I always win,” he said. “I humbled them and will do so again.”
He also made a bold claim about Obi’s political future, predicting his rival would fail to secure a coalition ticket for the next election.
“Their messiah will not get the coalition ticket. He will run back to LP and run in vain again,” Mr Adeyanju stated.
The activist, who has been a controversial figure for decades, concluded by asserting his influence, saying, “God has not just given me a good name but a powerful voice louder than that of every supporter of all Nigerian politicians.”
The dispute stems from Adeyanju’s consistent and vocal criticism of Peter Obi and his campaign strategies, which he has previously described as divisive and reliant on online propaganda.
Obi had threatened a law suit against Adeyanju if he refuses to retract his statement against him (Obi).
